Grant Writing Webinar
The California Historical Records Advisory Board is presenting a free grant writing webinar. The two-part course, taught by an
experienced consultant, will be held on November 2nd and November 9, 2011. Both
sessions will be held from 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Pacific time.
In the grant writing webinar, you will learn about:
- Grants and how they work
- The importance of planning
- Sources of funding for historical records
- Matching your needs with grant agency resources
- Writing the perfect proposal
- How grants are evaluated
- Managing a successful grant
- Developing your own grant
Staff and volunteers who work in historical societies, libraries, government offices, museums, and archives often suffer from a lack of adequate funding. Taught by an experienced consultant, this workshop can help you learn how to write a successful grant and increase the resources available to preserve your valuable collections. This webinar is intended for California organizations. Active members, staff, and volunteers of local historical societies in
Virginia who are interested in beginning a small digitization project
WHAT YOU’LL LEARN:
The basics and benefits of digital imaging projects
and the process of digitization
COST:
The workshop is provided at no cost to the first 70 registrants.
In addition, a limited number of travel stipends will be available
for attendees more than 150 miles from Richmond.
This workshop is made possible by a generous State and
National Archival Partnership (SNAP) grant from the
National Historical Publications and Records Commission.
Attendance is limited to 35 attendees for each half-day
workshop; maximum 2 members per institution.
