Public Schools Records Consortium (PSRC)

The Public Schools Records Consortium is a group of Virginia school administrators and records managers who meet six times a year at the Library of Virginia. The group has partnered with LVA and the Virginia Department of Education to bring clearer understanding and resources to issues around managing school records

LVA has established an educational listserv (Ed-SIG) to enhance communication by enabling records managers to pose questions to and exchange ideas with school records professionals from across the Commonwealth. To subscribe to Ed-SIG, contact Corey Smith.

PSRC meetings for the 2016-2017 academic year will be held on the dates listed below. The meetings will take place from 10:00am to 1:00pm at the Library of Virginia: 800 East Broad Street, Richmond Va, 23219.

PSRC Workshop

The Public Schools Records Consortium (PSRC) held a workshop for all school divisions in the Commonwealth on May 5, 2015. The topics included FERPA, FOIA, Special Education Records, VDOE-On Time Graduation Requirements as well as a case study on creating guidelines for student withdrawals. Educational materials from the workshop are now available: FOIA PowerPoint; FERPA PowerPoint; FERPA Quiz; FERPA Special EducationVirginia Department of Education On Time Graduation; and Fairfax County Public School Withdrawal Guidelines.
