The 2015 UCI Road World Championships are coming to Richmond, September 19-27. The courses will pass in front of the Library and will affect Library access. The Library’s lobby, exhibition, and the Virginia Shop will be open; the reading rooms and parking deck will be closed from September 21 through 25 and the entire Library will be closed on September 26. Restoration Needs: Conservation - The pages will be cleaned, deacidified and then mended with Japanese tissue and then flattened as needed in this large oversize volume. The book's binding will be resewn in linen thread. The original leather and all labels will be retained and restored in a newly rebound volume in suede (to match the original remnants as closely as possible). The binding will then be tooled (decorated) in period style with a leather spine label.
Cost of restoration: $5896

This volume has been adopted for conservation in March of 2012 by the Virginia Daughters of the American Revolution, Patricia Musick Hatfield, State Regent.
