The 2015 UCI Road World Championships are coming to Richmond, September 19-27. The courses will pass in front of the Library and will affect Library access. The Library’s lobby, exhibition, and the Virginia Shop will be open; the reading rooms and parking deck will be closed from September 21 through 25 and the entire Library will be closed on September 26. Description: The book is intact except for the partially detached first signature. The papers appears acidic and slightly brittle. The binding is abraded at the edges; the rear board is detached, with the spine partially so - the upper one third of the spine is missing. This book has the autographs of Francis T. Brooke and Francis E. Brooke on fly-leaf. On cover: Library of Virginia. Presented by Judge Francis T. Brooke.
Restoration Needs: The book's text block will be surface cleaned and deacidified non-aqueously. The folios of the book will be mended and guarded with Japanese paper. Spine will be treated, leather consolidated and the original binding will be restored. The book will also get a Japanese paper laminate reback and the original spine will be remounted. The book will also receive a custom clamshell box.
