Description: This Fairfax County legislative petition was submitted on October 10, 1790, by George Augustine Washington, acting as agent for his uncle, President George Washington, asking for the discontinuance of the ferry across the Potomac River. It includes a survey by George Washington shwing the area surrounding Mount Vernon. The petition was successful & was approved by the legislature.
Restoration Needs: Delaminate in an acetone bath. Surface clean and treat aqueously. Mend with Japanese paper. Re-sew with double folio handmade end papers. Bind in clothwiht a leather label recessed on the front board.
