Docent Program

The Library of Virginia is seeking enthusiastic, highly motivated, and dependable individuals to serve as volunteer docents for the institution. This position entails a diverse group of responsibilities. Docents will greet and welcome visitors to the Library. They will also be expected to demonstrate basic knowledge of the Library’s history, facilities, and functions. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge, dedication and passion for Virginia’s history and a commitment to the educational function of libraries. Volunteer & Intern Opportunities

Volunteers provide an invaluable service and the Library of Virginia welcomes the support of the community. Volunteer opportunities include data entry, administrative support, computer use, and retail assistance. Once the Library knows of your interests and skills through your application, we will try to match those skills with our needs.
