Virginia Association Opposed to Women's Suffrage, 1919

What Votes Cannot Do

VOTES cannot make work when there is no work.

VOTES cannot increase wages when there is no natural increase in business.

VOTES cannot stop the liquor traffic. The liquor traffic STILL FLOURISHES in Equal Suffrage States.

VOTES for women cannot lessen election expenses, it will double them.

The best safeguards for the working women are found in those states where the laws have been made by MEN VOTERS.

A woman's citizenship is now just as real and important as that of any man. The Anti-Suffragists stand for the true view of woman's place in the State.
