Virginia Cavalcade Volume Arrangement and Page Number

Volume Numbering
From Volume 1 (1951-1952) to Volume 14 (1964-1965), each volume consists of 4 seasonal issues, 3 in one year, 1 in the next. For example, in Volume 1, Summer, Autumn, and Winter (Numbers 1, 2, and 3) are in 1951, and Spring (Number 4) is in 1952.

From Volume 15 (1965-1966) to Volume 45 (1995-1996), the Summer and Autumn issues are in one year, Winter and Spring in the next.

Volume 46 (1996-1997) consists of 6 issues, in preparation for a change in volume numbering: Summer 1996 (Number 1), Autumn 1996 (Number 2), Winter 1997 (Number 3), Spring 1997 (Number 4), Summer 1997 (Number 5), and Autumn 1997 (Number 6).

From Volume 47 (1998), the 4 issues of a single volume are all in the same calendar year: Winter (Number 1), Spring (Number 2), Summer (Number 3), and Autumn (Number 4).

A table of contents to each volume is compiled and issued to subscribers annually.

Page Numbering

In Volumes 1 through 23, the 48 pages of each issue are numbered consecutively.
Beginning with Volume 24, the 192 pages of each volume are numbered consecutively.
Volume 31 contains a double issue (Autumn 1981) so has 224 consecutively numbered pages.

Some Oddities:

An issue named Winter 1965 does not exist.
Volume 11, Number 3, is called Winter 1961-1962.
Volume 12, Number 3, is called Winter 1962-1963.
Volume 13, Number 3, is called Winter 1963-1964.
Volume 19, Number 1, is incorrectly numbered inside the magazine as Volume 18, Number 5.
