Note ID: | JL550 | Weather Conditions: | Cloudy, mid-60's | Report Author: | Joseph D. Lahendro | Report Date: | 4/29/1999 | Location: | Mansion - Basement - Hall (E) / Stairhall (R) | Work Type: | Demolition | Notes: | Video and digital photos of north stair area, west wall, between the first floor joists above. Between the joists there is a finished plaster wall finish that indicates the stair floor above is later. A fragment of wallpaper, about 18" square, exists in one section between joists. This wall appears to have been a continuous finshed wall between basement and first floor when an earlier stair butted against the west wall. |

Note ID: | JL549 | Weather Conditions: | Cloudy, mid-60's | Report Author: | Joseph D. Lahendro | Report Date: | 4/29/1999 | Location: | Mansion - First Floor - Stair Hall (E/R) | Work Type: | Floor Conservation | Notes: | Video and digital photos of subfloor beneath parquetry in north stair on first floor. An infilled rectangular opening for the former stair exists against the west wall. One board used for floor infill appears to be a salvaged painted wainscot, approximately 26" wide and 7' to 8' long. It is painted on the top side, and unpainted on the underside facing the basement below, and this side has reciprocating saw cut marks. |

Note ID: | JL551 | Weather Conditions: | Cloudy, mid-60's | Report Author: | Joseph D. Lahendro | Report Date: | 4/29/1999 | Location: | Mansion - First Floor - Stair Hall (E/R) | Work Type: | Demolition | Notes: | Video and digital photos of two floor boards at the top of the north stair. These boards are obviously salvaged wood trim boards, due to their painted decorative reeding. The finished decorative sides face the basement below. These boards are very similar to the reeded decorative trim used in original first floor door frames. |

Note ID: | JL552 | Weather Conditions: | Cloudy, mid-60's | Report Author: | Joseph D. Lahendro | Report Date: | 4/29/1999 | Location: | Mansion - First Floor - Stair Hall (E/R) | Work Type: | Demolition | Notes: | Video and digital photos of south stair floor following complete removal of parquetry. Like the north stair, there is a rectangular infilled section of floor where, apparently, a former stair to the basement butted against the west wall. In both the south and north stairs there is a smaller infilled square section of floor, about 18" square, next to the center hall against the west wall. The origin of these small former openings is unknown. |
