Note ID: | JL386 | Weather Conditions: | Cloudy, low 70's | Report Author: | Joseph D. Lahendro | Report Date: | 10/13/1999 | Location: | Mansion - Second Floor - Lafayette Room (E/R) | Work Type: | Miscellaneous | Notes: | Video and digital photos of carpenter working on the north end window at the west wall. He has removed the head board, south jamb board and related casings. These wood members had shifted and were out of plane with the other window elements. In studying the removed members, it appears the head and jamb boards are original, but the casings and backbands appear to be new replacements. Jamb and head boards are joined to the sash box faceboards with tongue-and-groove joints. T-headed early cut nails used to attach boards. Carpenter is cleaning out joints, and installing blocking to replace boards and casings in their original position. |
