I looked in the pit and in the spoils and found odd artifacts (piece of cow bone, transferware, and glass from a lamp globe according to Beth Acuff, DHR Curator). Called Cara Metz to see if an archaeologist should have a look before foundations are poured. Cara suggested that I call Tony Opperman. |

The bases of the brick masses are corbelled. Diagonal and vertical wood framing appear to brace the rafters at the east and west sides of the chimney masses. |
