In light of the cutting and patching that would be required in order to reuse the historic baseboard, a decision is made to use new baseboard in most of the 1st floor. Outlets and receptacles have been carefully centered beneath the paneled wainscot. |

Framing of this area was also compromised by earlier (1950s?) removal of the brick walls that joined the original mansion to the 1906 wing. Workmen narrowly avoided an accident when some of the ceiling framing failed while they were installing ductwork in the attic. |
