Report Date: 6/16/1999
Location: Mansion - First Floor - Entrance Hall (E/R)
Work Type: Miscellaneous
Notes: Electricians are installing wiring in the baseboard area. Baseboards have been removed. The baseboard has been numbered and stored in the basement of the Finance Building. In light of the cutting and patching that would be required in order to reuse the historic baseboard, a decision is made to use new baseboard in most of the 1st floor. Outlets and receptacles have been carefully centered beneath the paneled wainscot.

Report Date: 6/16/1999
Location: Mansion - Second Floor - Bedroom and Bathroom #2 (R)
Work Type: Miscellaneous
Notes: The area over the former elevator shaft was more poorly framed than originally assessed. Framing of this area was also compromised by earlier (1950s?) removal of the brick walls that joined the original mansion to the 1906 wing. Workmen narrowly avoided an accident when some of the ceiling framing failed while they were installing ductwork in the attic.

The infill joists are spanning an early (original?) stair opening adjacent to the west wall. Exposed a large cut nail spike at an infill header/joist connection.
