Note ID: | JL220 | Weather Conditions: | Sunny, high 90s | Report Author: | Joseph D. Lahendro | Report Date: | 7/30/1999 | Location: | Mansion - First Floor - Old Governor's Office (E/R) | Work Type: | Miscellaneous | Notes: | Video and digital photos of stored large board that was removed from the north stair floor (see above documentation). It appears to be a wainscot board salvaged and reused as floor infill when the former stair opening was infilled. It is one board measuring 2'-1" X 9'-6", painted on one side. One long edge is grooved, and the other is cut at an angle. The paint on one side starts about 1/4" from the grooved edge and ends about 1 1/2" from the widest side of the angled edge. In examining the exposed bottom edge of other in situ wainscoting, there is none that has either a groove or angled edge like the salvaged board.
This board will be reused once again, this time to be cut into smaller pieces and installed on the short wall sections around the east fireplace where wainscot is missing. |
