Published by the Library of Virginia, Changing History tells the important and inspiring stories of women—both famous and lesser-known—who have influenced the course of history in the Old Dominion. Two of the book's authors Cynthia A. Kierner and Megan Taylor Shockley, will join Librarian of Virginia Sandra G. Treadway in a discussion about the challenges and opportunities in researching 400 years of Virginia women and the unparalleled resources for women's history available at the Library of Virginia. A book signing will follow.

Turning Point: Figures of Suffrage in Virginia

Kathleen Pablo of the Turning Point Suffragist Memorial Association in Occoquan will present a program about the personalities and singular courage of some of the major figures in the long struggle to ratify the 19th Amendment and on the turning point in that struggle known as the “Night of Terror.” On display will be items from the Library’s collection that belonged to Pauline Adams (1874–1957), a formidable woman suffrage activist in Virginia.
