Xanda Larew and her older sister, Aldah, were students at Randolph–Macon Woman’s College in the first years of the twentieth century. In his letter to Xanda, Isaac Hall Larew, the girls’ father, teased Xanda about her good marks and the sisterly competition between the girls.
