Virginia’s Deaf Culture Digital Library Offers Resources & Information

Learn More

A collaboration between the Central Rappahannock Regional Library and the Library of Virginia, Virginia’s Deaf Culture Digital Library (deaflibva.org), provides resources and information for the commonwealth’s Deaf community, including an excellent collection of deaf resources in digital formats, access to information regardless of location, and assistance for Virginia residents and library staff members. The website was established in 2021 after a two-year review and development process that included interviews with Deaf community members and research into Virginia resources for the Deaf. The project was made possible by funding from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

We’ve Upgraded Our Bandwidth!

This fall, the Library of Virginia upgraded its internet bandwidth from 50Mbps to 500Mbps. This increased speed is available on all patron systems as well as the Library's public WiFi. We hope that patrons visiting our building enjoy the improved connectivity and that virtual visitors notice faster responses as well.
