Weather Conditions: Sunny, Low 90's
Report Author: Joseph D. Lahendro
Report Date: 8/13/1999
Location: Mansion - First Floor - Breakfast Room (E/R)
Work Type: Demolition
Notes: Video and digital photos of removal of the west door and frame, which exposes mid-twentieth century framing below. On the north wall, the wainscot has been removed west of the door, and has exposed a brick extension, roughly in the center, that has been cut back below the later finishes. This extension may have been a former wall or pier. To the right of this extension, there is a painted brick wall with a paint ghost next to the extension (wood encased pier or pilaster?), and left of the extension is twentieth century plaster on metal lath. These early finishes and alterations relate to early twentieth century changes to this area when it was an outside eating porch converted to an enclosed breakfast room.
