Case Report on Aylett v. Aylett (1794).
- Imprint Number: 1796.026
- Title: Report of the case between Aylett and Aylett, determined by the High Court of Chancery in which the decree was reversed by the Court of Appeals.
- Sequence Number: 26
- Year: 1796
- Place Issued: Richmond
- Issuing Press: Thomas Nicolson
- Author: Wythe, George (1726-1806), reporter.
- Notes: Case concerned dispute between the legatees of one decedent's estate argued before the Supreme Court of Appeals in the fall Term in 1794.
One of a series of law reports published by Wythe in a form designed to be bound in volumes of collected decisions, so avoiding the expense of larger works, such as his earlier volume of High Court of Chancery decisions (1795.014); this imprint was one that included a title page, unlike others which leaves determinations of authorial and printer credits to external sources; Evans attributed those unidentified titles to George Wythe and Thomas Nicolson, based on their ongoing association, and other authorities followed suit – as does this Index.
Copy reported by Evans could not be found for filming by the Early American Imprints Series; most accessible form of this report can be found in vol. I of Bushrod Washington's reports.
