• Title: Sir, It being doubtful whether printed tickets, from an ambiguous expression of the law, may not be objected to, we earnestly recommend it to you to procure as many tickets to be written, as may be necessary for the Federal voters in your county … William Austin, Secretary to the Committee at Richmond, August 19th, 1800.

• Notes: Herein, the committee circulated the names of the ticket of electors pledged to Adams & Pinckney with instructions as to how voters would submit them in the forthcoming election, in accordance with the General Ticket Law.
  Sheet lacks printer credit; while clearly issued in Richmond, the press producing this circular is uncertain with two Federalist printers then operating there: Augustine Davis and William A. Rind; it is more likely that this was a Davis imprint, as Rind was probably in the process of moving his press to Washington on this date, having closed his Richmond paper, the Virginia Federalist, on August 2nd; but such a definite attribution to Davis only speculative.
