  • Notes: This oration was Grayson's farewell to Alexandria; a native of Prince William County, he had received his education in the port town; shortly after this speech, he removed to Kentucky and established a law practice in Lexington; a marriage to a daughter of John Breckenridge soon followed, but was brought up short by his unexpected and premature death in 1811.
