  • Author: Lathrop, Joseph, 1731-1820), and Nathan Perkins (1748-1838),
  • Notes: A reprinting of sermons by two Congregational ministers from New England; the collection was designed as a counter-argument to adult baptism, the work was first published in 1789 in Hartford, with a later Worcester edition in 1793; the timing of its publication suggests that Marshell contracted Nicolson to produce this edition in response to the evangelical activities of Baptist ministers that were a visible part of life on Virginia's Southside where he resided (Mecklenburg County); it is the only imprint known to have been issued under his name.
