Library of Virginia Programming Van to Visit the Great Bridge Battlefield & Waterways Museum in Chesapeake
RICHMOND, VIRGINIA – The Library of Virginia will bring its programming van, LVA On the Go, to the Great Bridge Battlefield & Waterways Museum, 1775 Historic Way, Chesapeake, Virginia, on Tuesday, Dec. 9 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
LVA On the Go travels across the Commonwealth to connect the community with some of the Library’s vast resources and programming.
In celebration of the 250th anniversary of Virginia’s first Revolutionary War victory at the Battle of Great Bridge, the Library will share resources related to the American Revolution. Visitors at the museum can also register for a Library of Virginia account, discuss regional and family history and discover research and educational materials such as Virginia Untold: The African American Narrative, a digital collection of records for Black Virginians before 1867, and VirginiaChronicle.com, a historical archive of over 5 million newspaper pages.
