• Notes: Broughton converted his thrice weekly paper to a daily with issue of Monday August 10, 1840; maintained that pace until August 1861, except for suspension in summer 1855 as result of yellow-fever epidemic. With introduction of daily edition, country edition was converted from twice-weekly to thrice weekly pace (LCCN no. 85-025837). Title here was alternated with that immediately above for duration of the paper's life. Publication was suspended ca. August 15, 1861 for want of paper; publication never resumed.
