- Notes: First new weekly issued in Virginia after the Revolutionary War outside of Richmond. Richards published the paper first with the support of Baltimore printer and publisher William Goddard (ca, 1784-86), and then with Alexandria land-agent Thomas Bond (ca. 1787-89). The paper experienced a brief three week suspension following the unexpected death of Richards in July 1789, during which time Bond joined with Samuel Hanson, a local forwarding agent, to create the firm that then published the successor to this title.
