• Notes: With issue of Wednesday, September 18, 1844, the Ritchies converted their twice-weekly paper into a daily; at about this same time, they also began issuing a twice-weekly country edition; that edition evidently continued the numbering of original paper, with the daily assuming a new serial sequence (vol. 1, no. 1 = September 18th); word "Daily" was added to masthead title with issue of September 28, 1844.
