  • Notes: Earliest known issue under this title and partnership is that for July 3, 1817; identity of the proprietors is uncertain, but given previous association with Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, press of George Kenton Harper, this Harper was probably a relation and likely son Kenton Harper (203), later proprietor of Staunton Spectator (1823). The only subsequent surviving issue of this variant is that for January 7, 1819, conducted by firm of Robinson & Harper, implying Harper engaged a succession of financial/editorial partners over the course of his Shepherdstown residence to publish this weekly.
