• Notes: No copy of this paper known extant; existence recorded from notice found in the National Intelligencer of April 24, 1819, as part of its ongoing reporting of new journals received in its Washington office, to wit: "The Potomack Register, Va. weekly, by Robinson & Harper at two dollars per annum. The first No. issued on the 15th inst." [i.e. April 15, 1819].
  Robinson & Harper had previously published Shepherdstown's American Eagle (1817-19), which apparently ceased publication with close of its third volume in March 1819. This new paper was followed by the Informer and Weekly Advertiser in September 1819, so indicating that the Potomack Register had ceased publication by then.
